Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). Emma's first film on the screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. It broke all records for opening day and weekend revenues, and it also became the highest-grossing film of 2001. Critics praised the film and the performance of three top young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British newspaper, was awed by her for her impressive performance. Emma's performance won her a nomination and received five awards in the film.
